Star Wars
George Lucas' big space adventure has a lot of hype behind it, but does it deliver? Let's check out.
In the distant future, a war is going on between two groups. The Empire and the Rebellion. During an attack on a ship that's carrying Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), she sends two droids to the planet below with a message for Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guiness). Meanwhile, she's taken captive by a powerful member of the Empire known as Darth Vader (James Earl Jones). The droids on the planet below are taken in by a boy named Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). One of the droids informs Luke of the message for Obi-Wan and they all set off to find him. Once they do, the message is played in full where Leia asks for Obi-Wan's help to defeat the Empire. He accepts and recruits Luke to help him. So the two set off on a journey to save Leia and destroy the Empire.
Right off the bat, the visuals are breathtaking. Every single detail has so much work and effort put into it. The acting and writing was well done and really made you care for the characters, even the droids. Lucas really created a universe in this film unlike anything I've seen before in movies. I really want to learn more about this universe and how it works.
Honestly, I don't have a whole lot wrong with this movie. If I had to nitpick, there were some things I would have liked to have seen been explained more, like Han's relationship with this alien slug thing. However, I can just go with that adding to the mystery of his character, which makes his character better.
So should you watch Star Wars? Of course you should. It's a great action-packed science fiction movie that can get you intrigued in its universe in mere minutes.
