Iron Man
Our story begins with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in an army jeep being transported somewhere. Suddenly, the jeep in front of them blows up and Tony gets out. He's eventually knocked out by one of his own weapons. He awakens with some terrorists using him as a hostage. We flash back to Tony getting an award from his friend, Rhodey (Terrance Howard). Unfortunately Tony isn't there, so his partner, Obediah Stane (Jeff Bridges), accepts the award for him. Later, Rhodey gives Tony the award and Tony leaves with a reporter. The next day, we meet the computer that runs Tony's house, Jarvis (Paul Bettnay), and his assistant, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Once the reporter leaves, we find Tony working in his workshop. After some time, Tony drives down to his private jet, which Rhodey pilotes. The plane takes him to the Middle East where he shows off his new weapon, the Jericho missile. After showing it off, Tony leaves in the jeep we saw at the beginning and now we're caught back up to the present. We see something happening to Tony, which knocks him out. When he awakens, he's in a cave with another man named Yinsen (Shaun Toub). Yinsen informs Tony that the terrorists that are holding him hostage are known as the Ten Rings and that a device that he's wearing is keeping him alive. Their leader, Raza (Faran Tahir) wants him to build the Jericho missile for him. He agrees, but ends up not building the missile. Instead, he builds a suit of armor so that him and Yinsen can escape. Once it's finished, they escape, but Yinsen dies in the process. Tony is rescued and taken back home where he holds a press conference announcing that he's shutting down the weapons portion of his company since the Ten Rings were using his weapons. Afterwards, Obediah talks to Tony about the mistake he just made. After some time, Tony eventually decides to use his new suit to help people since his weapons were harming them. So now Tony Stark sets out to destroy the Ten Rings and anyone else using his weapons.
There are so many awe inspiring moments in this movie. An excellent example of this is the scene in the cave. Here, Tony relies on nothing but his brain and the available resources around him to build the first Iron Man suit. This scene shows how resourceful Tony can be in desperate situations. He doesn't rely on his strength. His brain is his strongest muscle. Then there's the action scenes and boy are they fun to watch. From the epic escape at the battle to the climactic battle at the end of the film, every scene is packed full of energy. The film would be nothing if the characters weren't likable Luckily, every single one of them are fun and interesting, especially Tony Stark. Tony goes through so much in the film, which he should since he's the main character, but you really see him change through the film. He begins as a selfish rich playboy, but realizes how wrong he is and changes his life, right before his selfishness is used against him for his downfall. Obediah has so much mystery surrounding him. Throughout the film, we're not sure what his intentions are or even what side he's on. Pepper is kind of bland when she has to be a love interest, but as Tony's assistant she's alright. She serves her purpose and nothing more. But Gwyneth Paltrow really makes her more interesting, especially in the scene where Tony asks her to remove the device that's keeping him alive and replace it with a better one. She really shows how to make a bland character fun.

There isn't much bad about the film. The biggest problem is that they try to work Pepper into a love interest for Tony which doesn't work. Yeah, they have a somewhat romantic scene at a dance, but that's about it. It just doesn't seem like she could be a perfect match for Tony.
So should you see this movie? Of course. This has got to be one of the best superhero movies ever made. Iron Man is a great hero and it never falls apart or slows
